Prof. Dr. Ömür Çağlar
Prof. Dr. Ömür Çağlar was born in 1974 in Izmir, Turkey, and graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1998. He subsequently completed his residency training in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine between 1998 and 2004, becoming a specialist in Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
In 2004, he spent six months at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, USA, focusing on adult reconstructive surgery and total joint arthroplasty. After completing his military service at Gülhane Military Medical Academy between 2005 and 2006, he joined the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Hacettepe University in 2007, first as a faculty member and later as an Assistant Professor. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2012 and became a Full Professor in 2021. He continues to serve as a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the same institution.
Prof. Dr. Çağlar is a member of the Turkish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, AO Alumni Association, Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Society, and the Trauma Subdivision of the Turkish Orthopaedics Association. He has authored numerous national and international articles and book chapters. In addition, he is actively involved as an educator in the Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Society, AO Alumni Association, and Trauma Subdivision.
His primary fields of interest include orthopaedic trauma surgery, adult hip and knee disorders, hip and knee arthroplasty, and revision joint replacement surgery.
