What is a Gastric Bypass?
Gastric bypass surgery refers to a technique in which the stomach is divided into a small upper pouch and a much larger lower “remnant” pouch and then the small intestine is rearranged to connect to both. When the food taken fills the small sac, a feeling of fullness occurs.
How long is the Operation Time?
The operation time is 1-3 hours.
How long is the Healing Time?
The healing time is 2 weeks.
How long is the Accommodation Day?

Gastric Sleeve Surgery
What is a Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
Sleeve gastrectomy is a surgical weight-loss procedure in which the stomach is reduced to about 15% of its original size, by surgical removal of a large portion of the stomach along the greater curvature. The result is a sleeve or tube like structure. The procedure permanently reduces the size of the stomach, although there could be some dilation of the stomach later on in life. The procedure is generally performed laparoscopically and is irreversible.
Who should have this surgery?
- BMI (body mass index) for gastric sleeve should be 40 or higher[9]
- BMI should be 35 or higher if they have obesity-related conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea or fatty liver disease.
How long is the Healing Time?
The healing time is 14 days.
How long is the Accommodation Day?

Gastric Balloon
What is a Gastric balloon?
A gastric balloon, also known as an intragastric balloon (IGB) or a stomach balloon, is an inflatable medical device that is temporarily placed into the stomach to help reduce weight. It is designed to help provide weight loss when diet and exercise have failed and surgery is not wanted or not recommended for the patient.
Who is this procedure applied to?
- Patients who require weight-loss support butwho do not want to commit to surgical interventions
- In cases with morbid (extremely) obese (BMI=50-60) patients, gastric balloon application is preferred to achieve a weight loss of 10 kg (in order to reduce liver volume and facilitate surgical steps).
How long is the Healing Time?
The healing time is 3-4 days.
